Background

Gilbert’s Heritage District is looking to the future and will be making improvements to create an even more connected and vibrant Downtown. As a part of this effort, we have completed 15% design for 'Water Tower Way' (known as the Paseo in the 2018 Redevelopment Plan). Water Tower Way is a pedestrian and bicycle (car free) path, from Elliot Road to Juniper Avenue. The first portion of Water Tower Way will be completed with the construction of the North Anchor.

Paseo Detail Drawing

This north-south, car-free pedestrian and bicycle route is intended to be the connective link between District neighborhoods, parks, plazas, and key redevelopment areas. A ‘common thread’ of distinctive, landscape, paving, furniture, and signing elements creates a joyful and memorable setting to pass through or spend time within.

A 15% plan was completed in 2022 that outlines the overall plan and can be found here

Water Tower Way will be completed in multiple phases and the public portions are included in the Gilbert Capital Improvement Plan

As phases of Water Tower Way are completed they will be included on this webpage so check back for updates !
