Gilbert Police File a Report

This service is provided as a convenient and is available in 30+ languages to report a crime that is not in progress.  To file a report online, you must be over 17 years old.  If you want to report a crime in progress, immediately call 9-1-1

You can use this online form to report the following crimes:

  • Criminal Damage
  • Hit and Run Collision (other party unknown)
  • Harassment (unknown suspect: random text messages/emails)
  • Theft
  • Theft from a Building (not a house burglary)
  • Shoplifting
  • Car burglary (personal items)
  • Car burglary (vehicle parts)
  • Garage burglary
  • Fraud and Fraud Schemes
  • Graffiti
  • Child Custody Complaints

For any other type of crime, or if you prefer to speak to an officer over the phone or in person, please call the non-emergency number at 480-503-6500 to make a report.

You may only report incidents that have occurred in the Town of Gilbert. If the incident you are reporting occurred outside the Town of Gilbert, please contact the appropriate agency to make your report.

This service cannot be used if the crime is currently happening, a firearm was involved, if the suspect is present, there is physical evidence to collect, if the crime is a hate crime, and the amount money lost or damaged is over $7,500. 

For police services involving any of the aforementioned items please call 9-1-1 if it is an emergency, or 480-503-6500 for non-emergencies.  

It may take up to ten business days to process your report request. Again, if you prefer to have an officer to respond to your location or talk to an officer on the phone, please call 480-503-6500 and we will be happy to assist you. You may also visit the Gilbert Police Department 24 hours a day, seven days a week or our San Tan sub-station Monday through Thursday 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM in person.

The lobby of our Gilbert Police Department at 75 E. Civic Center Drive has two kiosks available 24/7 to file an online report.

To begin the report process, please complete as many of the fields as possible that apply to the incident. Much of the information that you provide will aid in the investigation process and some of it is utilized in documenting crime statistics. This information, non-personal information, will become available to the public under A.R.S. 39-121.
