Arizona’s first electric fire truck has arrived.

The Gilbert Fire & Rescue Department is proud to be the first department in the state and one of only a handful in the country to deploy an electric-powered fire engine designed to improve the health and safety of our crews and community.

This zero-emissions electric pumper reduces exposure to harmful diesel exhaust and performs better in emergencies, when every second matters.

The Pierce Volterra electric fire truck will operate out of Gilbert Fire Station No. 2 near Guadalupe and Higley Roads.

Quote from Gilbert Fire Chief Rob Duggan: Fire Chiefs have a responsibility to bring innovations to their departments that improve firefighter safety and increase effectiveness in the delivery of services.
