Last month, Benny Ruiz retired from Gilbert Fire & Rescue Department. Gilbert’s longest tenured employee, firefighter Ruiz was a staple of GFRD since its inception in 1993. He was part of the department’s first official call and was the fifth firefighter hired, Badge #5.
