TS1940 Fiber Optic Strategic Build Out

Project Description

Gilbert is currently designing and constructing a fiber optic network throughout the arterial roadways of the Town, to be completed in phases. The project consists of conduit, fiber optic cable, enclosures, and related infrastructure and equipment.

Per the Fiber Optic Implementation Plan completed in 2020, gaps in the Town's fiber infrastructure have been identified, and a plan to add fiber to all arterial streets and accommodate for necessary connections to other Town infrastructure has been developed. Funding for the Fiber Optic Network is available annually through 2029, and the project will be completed in phases.

In coordination with the TS1940 Fiber Optic Strategic Build out, several additional CIP projects have been identified, including:

PR1336 - Parks Facility Fiber Connection

WW1263 - System Fiber Optic Connectivity

CURRENT PHASE: DEVELOPMENT

Design and construction to complete last mile connections for the fiber optic system to all water, wastewater and storm water facilities. This project would include any facilities for water, wastewater and storm water not included within TS1940 Fiber Optic Strategic Buildout, as shown within Final Report. Additional wastewater facilities that need to be added to this scope would include the Riparian, Reservoir #1, Rancho Del Verde Lift Station, Baseline Lift Station, Gilbert Commons Lift Station, Neely Lift Station, Neely Treatment Plant, Turner Ranch Lift Station, Fiesta Tech Lift Station, San Tan Lift Station, Candlewood Lift Station, Layton Lakes Lift Station, and Western Skies Lift Station into the system.
