The Gilbert Police Department is comprised of highly skilled law enforcement officers, certified by the Arizona Peace Officer Standards and Training Board (POST), along with a professional support staff to ensure the effective enforcement of the State of Arizona laws. Our mission is to serve and protect the citizens of Gilbert, Arizona by committing to enhancing the quality of life and serving with integrity, trust, and respect.

Gilbert PD is accredited through the Arizona Association of Chiefs of Police (AACOP) Arizona Law Enforcement Accreditation Program (ALEAP). This accreditation is in addition to our continuous self-assessment inspection process to ensure the Gilbert Police Department:

  • Maintains up-to-date policies and procedures
  • Holds police personnel accountable for their actions
  • Limits its liability exposure, as police action is compliant with police policy
  • Maintains transparency of police operations for the citizens 
  • Continues to maintain a reputation for professional excellence
