Rules for Parade Participants
This year's parade theme is "Decade Party." Groups are encouraged to design their float/entries celebrating a decade of their choice. Will it be Flower Power of the 70's, Disco Days of the 80's, or perhaps Family Double Dare of the 90's? We can't wait to see you at the parade!
Please Note:
Groups are welcome to design their float/entries as they choose making sure they stay within the guidelines listed below.
Participant staging, parking and parade information will be mailed to participants two weeks prior to the parade.
- All vehicles that are planning on being in the parade must check in by 7:30 AM. All group participants must be set and ready by 8:00 AM on the morning of the parade in their designated staging areas.
- Entries may not stop to perform, distribute giveaway items, or for any other reason on the parade route. All entries must continue to move with the flow of the parade, unless directed to stop by a staff parade marshal for operational of safety reasons.
- Any giveaway items must be handed out and cannot be thrown to parade attendees. Individuals may walk along the edge of the crowd to distribute items but must not encourage attendees to enter into the street to obtain items.
- Vehicle Size Maximum: Due to safety and spacing concerns, vehicles larger than a 20 ft. trailer are not permitted in the staging areas, or on the parade route. Please no semi-trailers, or vehicles longer than 30 ft. total (truck +20 ft. trailer).
All parade entries are welcome to decorate their float and/or parade entry to show their school or organization's spirit.
This year, we want groups to think about the items they hand out along the parade route. Smiles, high fives and kind words will certainly go further than passing out candy. Be creative!
