About Page Park

Page Park is a neighborhood park located next to the Gilbert Community Center and the Heritage Center. It is also the site where “Movies in the Park” occurs on select nights on a monthly basis. The park also features a large pavilion that is available for rent with a large open space under it with no tables or seating. Also at Page Park are a half basketball court, one playground area and large grassy basin area. Immediately located to the south of Page Park is the Gilbert Boys and Girls Club Branch of the East Valley.

Page Park was named after Walter W Page.  Walter W Page was a long-term mayor, however  the park was named after him in honor of his extraordinary kindness during the depression when, as the owner of a store on Gilbert Rd selling everything from groceries to shoes,  he “carried” -- continued to extend credit to – several families who were without any money and were struggling just to get by. Mr. Page did this even though it was to his own financial detriment.  Furthermore, the children of his customers carry fond memories to this day of Mr. Page giving marbles to them as children when their families purchased goods at his store.
