Park Hours: 5:30 AM - 10:00 PM

Park Rules Prohibit:

  • Alcohol possession or consumption
  • Littering
  • Glass containers
  • Golfing
  • Interference with reserved use areas
  • Abusing facilities / Disruptive behavior
  • Unreasonable noise
  • Petting zoo and pony rides 
  • Motorized vehicles (unless permitted)
  • Swimming, diving, or wading in lakes
  • Hot air balloons
  • Solicitation or posting of handbills
  • Cardboard or water sliding, ice blocking, or use of other materials for sliding
  • Dangerous acts such as: archery, use of firearms, fireworks
  • Barbequing except in designated areas (existing grills or 10ft from ramadas/trees)
  • Parking in areas not designated as parking spots
  • Use of an area of the park that has been designated as closed

Pet Requirements:

Permits Required For:

  • Organized field practice, classes, directed fitness or commercial activity
  • Special equipment, including but not limited to inflatable structures
  • Sale of goods or services (food, beverages, etc.)

Ball Field Rules:

  • Climbing on or over fences is prohibited.
  • “Soft Toss” against the fence is prohibited.
  • Hitting against the fence is not allowed.
  • Vehicles are not allowed on fields.
  • Un-sportsmanlike conduct, fighting, foul language will not be allowed.
  • Use established base distance only
  • Throw down bases may only be used on dirt infields

Request from Park Rangers must be strictly adhered to in the interest of public safety. For a complete listing, please see Gilbert Code, Chapter 46. Violators are subject to penalties.

Gilbert Regional Park Pickleball Court Rules:

Rules and Regulations:

  • Courts may be closed at any time due to safety or maintenance concerns.
  • Athletic shoes with non-marking soles are required. Ensure shoes are dry and free from dirt.
  • Pickleball courts are to be used for pickleball play only.  
  • Court #P5 is designated as an ADA court for use with wheelchair play which has priority. No player rotation is required on this court when utilized for ADA play. 
  • The following items are not permitted:
    • animals, except for service animals, on the courts
    • attaching items to fence, light poles, nets, or shade awnings
    • bicycles, skateboards, scooters, or other wheeled recreational devices 
    • food, gum, or drink, except water
    • glass containers
    • personal sound systems
    • sitting or leaning on the nets

Reservation and Rotation:

  • Organized leagues, instruction, and tournaments must be coordinated through the Gilbert Parks & Recreation Department.
  • If not reserved, pickleball courts are open for first-come, first-served public use until court capacity is reached.
  • When court capacity is reached, and players are waiting, paddle rotation should be used (four+ players). 
    • Waiting players place paddles in paddle racks from left to right, in groups of four.
    • When a game is complete, the next four waiting rotate onto the court and move the paddle indicator to the next group.   
    • If players want to continue play, re-load paddles from left to right. Only one paddle per player.
    • Waiting players continue to move up in the rotation as players come off the court.
  • Court use is limited to a standard game scoring format (first to 11 points, winning team must win by two).
  • When less than four players are waiting, new players may challenge in by groups of two.
  • Winners may stay on for up to two games and accept the challenge of waiting player(s).

Reminders:

  • Be courteous and considerate to the players on the adjoining court(s).
  • For your safety please inspect the court conditions before the start of play.
  • Lights operate by pressing the button on the fence pole. They remain on for one hour.  
  • Proper court etiquette and sportsmanship are expected.
