Parks & Recreation Master Plan

The Town worked with citizens, a Master Plan Steering Committee and the Parks, Recreation and Library Services Advisory Board to create a ten year Parks, Recreation, and Trails Master Plan.  The plan was presented and adopted by the Town Council on February 13, 2014. Read more >

Lake Study and Report

The Town of Gilbert Parks Department currently is maintaining nine (9) lakes at seven (7) different locations within the Town. The Town’s goal is to develop a scientific approach to the maintenance and best practices of these lakes in order to achieve a “Best in Class” system of lakes. This study will provide an inventory of the existing systems and provide a baseline of the lakes’ “health”. The study will also identify items that can be improved upon to increase the lakes’ health and potentially reduce overall long term maintenance costs. Read more >

Shade and Streetscape

The Shade and Streetscape Master Plan will be developed to create a healthier, more livable community through the strategic investment in maintenance and growth of the urban forest and engineered shade.
