Softball

Please have all players review our softball handbook prior to first meeting. Leagues will be offered in the following categories:

• Mens: C, D, E
• Womens: C and D
• Co-Ed: C, D, E

Adult softball is also offered at Freestone Park.

Kickball

Please have all players review our kickball handbook prior to first meeting. Leagues will be offered in the following categories:

• Co-Ed: Rec

Soccer

Please have all players review our indoor soccer handbook prior to first meeting. Leagues will be offered in the following categories:

• Mens: Open, Rec
• Co-Ed: Upper, Rec

Flag Football 

Please have all players review our flag football handbook prior to first meeting. Leagues will be offered in the following categories:

• Mens: 5vs5 No Contact Rec
• Womens: 5vs5 No Contact Rec

Looking for other adult sports leagues? Gilbert also offers basketball and volleyball at other locations in town. 

Submit Your Roster 

Team managers are responsible for registering their team and submitting their roster prior to the start of the season. To submit your roster:

1. First, be sure to register your team online. This guarantees your spot in the upcoming season. Payment is due in full at time of registration.
2. Next, download and fill out the appropriate roster for the sport you're going to play. Signatures will be collected at the first game.

3. Save this document and email to trevor.henry@gilbertaz.gov. Your roster will be sent directly to our Adult Sports staff. Adult league rosters can be also be mailed in, or dropped off at Cactus Yards- 4536 E. Elliot Rd. 
4. After we have received your roster a confirmation email will be sent to you. 

*Players can now play on any number of teams in Gilbert, as long as they are listed on the official team roster.  This includes both league and tournament play.  Team managers are responsible for keeping their rosters up to date.

Our Free Agent list is a great way to build a new team from scratch, or open yourself up as a player. Team managers utilize these lists when adding players to their roster.

Referee Opportunities 

Cactus Yards utilizes experienced, paid referees for our Adult Indoor Sports leagues. For information on becoming a referee, contact Trevor Henry at Trevor.Henry@gilbertaz.gov.

Gilbert Parks and Recreation requires barrel compression testing for all adult softball leagues and tournaments. Passing bats will receive an approval sticker valid through December 2023 at all locations.

Bat Testing Policies & Procedures

1. All adult softball players will be required to test their bats prior to use in adult softball leagues and tournaments.
2. Bats must be on the USA Softball approved bats list or the USA Softball list of non-linear bats.
3. In order to pass, barrel compression must be at 1450 psi or greater. Non-linear bats will have unique barrel compression thresholds available here. 
4. Passing bats will receive an approval sticker valid until December 2023 at Gilbert, Mesa, Chandler, Tempe, and Scottsdale.
5. Umpires and staff will regularly check bats for compliance. Use of an illegal bat will result in player ejection. Further disciplinary action will be taken for repeat offenses. 

Bat Testing Locations in Gilbert

Freestone Park Ballfields; 1045 E Juniper Ave

• Bat testing will only be available prior to scheduled adult softball games beginning Sunday, September 11, 2022. 

Cactus Yards; 4536 E Elliot Rd

• Bat testing can be performed prior to scheduled adult softball games, or during regular business hours at the Cactus Yards Team Shop. Hours: Monday - Friday, 9am - 5pm

Town of Gilbert Tournaments 

Gilbert Parks and Recreation proudly hosts a variety of tournaments during the Fall sports season, as well as co-host the All-City Softball Tournament in the Spring. Registration for each tournament typically opens early September (All-City will open in January). Tournaments are open to teams of all levels; participation during the regular Adult Softball seasons is not required for tournament participation.

 
*Minimum donation of 1 toy valued at $25 required for each team participating in Toys 4 Tots.
All Tournaments are subject to the rules and regulations outlined in the Adult Softball Handbook.
Each tournament will have a separate roster form that must be submitted in order to participate.
