Gilbert routinely evaluates the fiscal health of utility services, including water, wastewater, environmental compliance, solid waste and recycling to ensure quality services for our customers.

The Gilbert Town Council is currently considering a utility rate increase for water and solid waste & recycling services and will vote on whether to approve the new rates at the February 6, 2024 council meeting.

If approved, the new utility rates will begin with the April 2024 billing cycle. Learn more.

Wait. Didn't utility rates just go up?

Gilbert reviews the financial status of its utilities each year as part of its annual budget development process to determine if changes are needed to the current rates.

Earlier in 2023, the Gilbert Town Council approved a rate increases for water and environmental services fees. An increase for water and solid waste & recycling was also approved in 2022.

Given the cost pressures associated with utility operations nationwide, rate increases are likely to be recommended in the future.
