The ideas, support, and ongoing involvement of Gilbert residents, business owners, and property owners is crucial to a successful redevelopment plan and masterplan. 

The process is still in the conceptual phase, meaning no decisions or direction has been made to date. The Town will hold at least two additional public workshops. The dates and information regarding these workshops will be posted on the Gilbertaz.gov calendar, the Heritage District webpage (gilbertaz.gov/heritagedistrict), and the Town’s social media sites including Nextdoor. Public Workshop #4

Date: June 5, 2018

Purpose of Meeting:

• Review objectives, alternatives, and input received from previous workshops
• Present the draft Redevelopment Plan Update and Implementation Strategy

Next Steps:

• Consultant will collect all public, stakeholder and staff input for the draft Redevelopment Plan Update
• Consultant will enter comments into Redevelopment Plan Update

Public Workshop #3

Date: April 3, 2018

Purpose of Meeting:

• Review objectives, alternatives, and input received from previous workshops
• Present the refined fundamental concept
• Discuss draft phasing and implementation strategy
• Tables were asked to discuss the fundamental concept
  • Each table presented the overarching thoughts from the refined fundamental concept

Next Steps:

• Consultant will return with additional refinement to the fundamental concept
• Consultant will present a draft of the redevelopment plan for public input
• An additional workshop will be held the first week of June 2018

Date: January 30, 2018

Purpose of Meeting:

• After receiving initial feedback from Public Workshop #1, stakeholder groups and a technical committee, the consultant returned with a market conditions report and a fundamental concept
• Attendees provided input regarding consultant's fundamental concept on the feedback form
• Tables were asked to discuss the fundamental concept
  • Each table presented the overarching thoughts from the fundamental concept

Next Steps:

• Consultant will return with an further refined fundamental concept in March 2018 for public input
• Note: there will be a minimum of two additional workshops
