On March 7th, 2019 the Gilbert Town Council voted unanimously to adopt a Town-wide ordinance regulating the areas that micromobility devices can and cannot be used, and to set rules regarding obstructions in the right of way. On the same night, the Council also voted to start implementation of a Pilot Program to allow private companies to deploy devices and operate in the Town under a specific set of rules and regulations. A Pilot Program license agreement is now required with the individual scooter and bike companies who wish to participate in the program. The rules of the Pilot Program will be enforced on the private companies who want to operate in the Town.
