*The Self-Insured Trust Fund for Health Insurance Benefits, Self-Insured Trust Board for Workers' Compensation, and Risk Retention Funds have been combined into the Self-Insured Trust Board.

The Trustees administer the Trust Fund pursuant to Chapter 3, Article 3 of the Town Code and the Trust Agreement; provide financial oversight of the Trust Fund by evaluating claim expenses and reserve amounts; review quarterly the Trust Fund to insure sufficient funds exist to pay outstanding and future benefits, to pay losses or claims or any combination of insurance and direct payment, and to pay for risk management consultation; make recommendations to the Town Manager on financial issues relating to workers’ compensation and employer liability; comply with all requirements of state and federal laws relating to self-insurance programs for the management and administration of workers’ compensation or other self-insured system for direct payment of benefits, losses or claims or any combination of insurance and direct payment;. and meet at least two (2) times a year, or more frequently as the Chairperson of the Board deems necessary or upon the request of the Town Manager.

Ideal Candidate Statement

The ideal candidate may have experience in the medical industry, finance, insurance and/or human resources with strong analytical and creative thinking skills.

Open Meeting Law

Agendas and notices are posted at least 24 hours prior to a meeting or event. Agendas are removed from the website after the meeting.

Draft minutes are posted to the website within three working days of a meeting. The draft minutes contain all legal action taken.
