The Gilbert Municipal Court is a Court of limited jurisdiction and part of the integrated Arizona Court System for the Town of Gilbert. We are committed to delivering superior justice services to all persons by disposing cases in a just & timely manner while maintaining the integrity of the Judicial Branch of government.
The Gilbert Municipal Court handles the following types of cases:
- Misdemeanor criminal offenses, such as Driving Under the Influence, Shoplifting, Assault, Disorderly Conduct, Dog at Large, municipal code violations and commercial vehicle violations; and
- Protective orders, such as Orders of Protection and Injunctions Against Harassment; and
- Civil traffic violations, such as Speeding, No Insurance, Seatbelt violations, Improper Turns, and Child Restraint violation and Municipal Code and Land Development Code Violations
- Our court DOES NOT handle felony cases or criminal juvenile cases. These cases are handled by the Superior Court in and for Maricopa County.

Important Instructions
1. On your court date select the link above by 2:30 PM (Arizona Time) .
2. You will need the Microsoft Teams Application to participate in the remote hearing.
3. You will enter your name as it appears on your citation and will placed into a virtual lobby. You will be admitted into the hearing by court personnel.
4. Be prepared to provide your contact information including, mailing address, phone number and email address to court personnel.
5. Be prepared to present documents such as valid driver's license, current registration and proof of insurance.
6. Unless otherwise instructed this remote appearance is for your first appearance in court to resolve civil traffic or local civil codes violations only. If you have been charged with a criminal offense YOU MUST APPEAR in Court as noted on your citation or summons.

Complete a Petition for an Order of Protection Online
Petitioners for protective orders are encouraged to report to the Court's Service Counter between 7:00 AM-11:00 AM and 1:00 PM-5:00 PM in order to avoid delays in seeing a judge. You can complete your petition online at AZPOINT prior to arrival or complete a paper petition at the court. All petitions should be filed with the court by 5:00 PM, Monday - Thursday.
