The Gilbert Fire & Rescue and Gilbert Police Departments invite the public to reflect on those who lost their lives during the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001. The Tribute in Lights will be lit at the 9/11 Memorial Plaza at the Gilbert Civic Center, 50 E. Civic Center Dr., from 7:30-10:30 pm

With schools in our area beginning to resume in-person learning, Gilbert Police will be issuing extra patrol and motor units to assist with monitoring and enforcement of school zones, including during pick-up and drop-off hours.

The Gilbert Town Council voted to appoint Vice Mayor Scott Anderson as Gilbert’s Interim Mayor during a Special Meeting on Tuesday, August 18th. Anderson’s appointment leaves an open council seat which the Council also voted to immediately fill with Councilmember-elect, Kathy Tilque.

The Gilbert Town Council has adopted an emergency order requiring the wearing of face coverings in public effective today, June 19, 2020 at 5 PM.

In response to Governor Doug Ducey’s announcement today that he would allow local governments to implement their own mask and face-covering policies, Mayor Daniels has called an emergency council meeting for this Friday, June 19th at 8 AM to discuss the topic.
