Meet Officer Emily King: Gilbert PD's Youth Community Engagement Officer

Gilbert, Ariz. – The Gilbert Police Department is excited to introduce Officer Emily King as the department’s first Youth Community Engagement Officer.
This new role, established in Summer 2024 was created to focus on building strong connections and engagement opportunities with Gilbert’s youth.
Officer King, a graduate of Gilbert’s Regional Police Academy and Police Cadet Advisor, was selected for the role in August and has since begun the research phase of identifying youth engagement best practices. In addition, Officer Emily King will conduct regular reviews of youth-related Calls for Service and trends, work with GPD patrol officers and counselors on youth-related issues, and work hand-in-hand with community partners to develop programs that promote safety, awareness, and trust with the Gilbert Police Department.
Through these initiatives, Officer King aims to empower our youth to become active and informed members of their community.
