Gilbert, Ariz. - The holiday season brings joyous celebrations, delicious food, and new gifts such as electronics and appliances. After the parties are over, it’s time to clean up and replace old items with new. Gilbert is here to help you get rid of your household waste.
Our trained technicians at the Household Hazardous Waste Facility will properly collect and dispose of your hazardous materials to protect your home, our community, and the environment.
Used Cooking Oils
Used cooking oil is a common household hazardous waste after holiday gatherings. If it is thrown in the trash, it can cause a spill in the streets or damage bulk trash trucks. It is also illegal to dump used cooking oil down sink or storm drains. Our Household Hazardous Waste Facility accepts up to 10 gallons of used cooking oil or other approved liquids per resident per visit.
Old Electronics and Other Items
If you are looking to get rid of old electronics, the Household Hazardous Waste Facility collects batteries, flat screen TVs, laptops, computer cell phones, and printers. Additional acceptable items include fluorescent light bulbs, household cleaners, propane tanks, smoke detectors and thermostats, very small appliances (without Freon), and more.
Drop-off is free for all Gilbert residents, who pay for solid waste and recycling services. Starting the Saturday after Thanksgiving, Gilbert residents can bring their household hazardous waste items to the facility between 7:00 AM and 2:30 PM.
