Gilbert, AZ - With Memorial Day Weekend kicking off the beginning of the Summer travel season, Gilbert PD has some safety reminders to help keep you safe before you hit the road. 

• Inspect your vehicle and check that your tires are properly inflated prior to long drives 
• Pack an emergency kit, snacks, and water before your trip
• Buckle up and check that any small children are secured in a child restraint system
• Follow the posted speed limit
• Avoid distractions - don't text and drive

Gilbert PD will be focusing efforts throughout the weekend ensuring our roadways are safe from drunk drivers as part of the East Valley DUI Task Force. Remember to plan ahead if you'll be drinking and schedule a ride-share service to get you home safe.
