The Parks and Recreation Board strives to ensure that citizens of every segment of the Town have opportunities to enjoy diverse leisure experiences. The Board's recommendations may encompass programming of public improvements, policy input and review, capital projects, and programs and regulations relating to park and recreation areas.

Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate should be able to view issues from a big picture and longer term perspective, be an advocate for parks and recreation in the community, be knowledgeable about the benefits that parks and recreation services provide within a community, interact with citizens on parks and recreation issues, and have ongoing citizen/neighborhood contact on issues related to the board.

Meeting Schedule

This board typically meets the 2nd Tuesday of each month.

Location: Meeting location varies.  Please see agenda; agendas are posted a minimum of 24 hours in advance in accordance with statutory requirements.

Time: 6:00pm

Open Meeting Law

Agendas and notices are posted at least 24 hours prior to a meeting or event. Agendas are removed from the website after the meeting.

Draft minutes are posted to the website within three working days of a meeting. The draft minutes contain all legal action taken.

The Town of Gilbert endeavors to make all public meetings accessible to persons with disabilities. Persons needing any type of special accommodations are asked to notify the Town Clerk's Office at least 72 hours in advance. Requests for accommodation made less than 72 hours in advance cannot be guaranteed.
