The mission of the Board is to create a supportive Town atmosphere and examine issues affecting the health and well-being of service members, veterans, and their families.

The Board has established three pillars of focus: Veteran Events, Veteran Wellness, and the U.S.S. Arizona Project.

The Board shall have the following powers and duties:

  1. Act as a conduit to plan Town events supporting military culture, protocol, and honoring service members, veterans, and their families.
  2. Engage with the Town Council on recommending policies and protocols, and on matters and initiatives that relate to service members, veterans, and their families.
  3. Foster a network of support for service members, veterans, and their family, by connecting the Town to vetted information, resources, and services.
  4. Seek to establish subcommittees and task forces on an ad hoc basis, to further its mission of building capacity and strengths within the Town’s systems.
  5. Add a voice and new layer of coordination and support between the Town, the public, service members, veterans, and their family members, to receive input regarding the provision of services and programs for the community.
