The department is proud to be be CAPRA accredited and several facilities and parks have earned the Certified Autism Center designation from the IBCCES. Wednesday Riparian Field Class

Dinosaur Diggers

The Wednesday Field Class Series is intended as a supplement to at-home schooling and will explore scientific topics through engaging activities set in the Riparian Preserve. Classes will take place on the third Wednesday of each month January - April.

The world of dinosaurs is both fascinating and mysterious. This class will explore the science of Paleontology. Participants will learn about the different types of fossils, how they are formed, uncovered by humans, and put back together to learn more about the ancient past. We will dig for fossils and make and take our own impression fossil replicas.
