The community is invited to join Gilbert as we celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. on Monday, January 17, 2022. This year's celebration theme is Tomorrow Is Today. The festivities will begin with a parade including participation from Gilbert PD with their 1955 Chevy and Gilbert Fire and Rescue who will be driving the 1953 GMC pumper truck.  The parade will also feature other community groups, organizations, businesses, churches, dance groups, bands, and regional cities. Upon ending their stroll in Downtown Mesa, the celebration will continue with a festival featuring food, vendors, and fun activities.

East Valley Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Parade and Festival Information:

The parade begins at 11 a.m. on January 17, 2022, kicking off on Center Street in Downtown Mesa at Martin Luther King Jr. Way. The parade will continue south on Center Street to First Street, and then travel west on First Street and conclude at Robson. The festival will be located on Macdonald Street, just north of Main Street in Downtown Mesa from 12 - 4 p.m.
