Gilbert Community Invited to Celebrate SciTech Festival

SciTech_FestivalGilbert, Ariz. - More than twenty events in Gilbert will celebrate the importance of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) throughout the month of February. As part of the Arizona SciTech Festival, SciTech Gilbert offers a series of events that will showcase businesses, artists, students, and innovators in the Gilbert community.

Each event offers residents an opportunity to explore the innovation taking place right in their backyards.

Drinking Water in Gilbert: Behind the Scenes at the Santan Vista Facility
Saturday, February 8, 8 a.m. and 10 a.m.
Santan Vista Drinking Water Treatment Plant

Don't miss this rare opportunity to tour a drinking water facility and learn about all the science, engineering, and technology that brings you a cool glass of water! Tours of the facility will begin at 8 a.m. and 10 a.m., taking you through the facility and grounds.  Learn about the latest approaches to drinking water treatment and plans for the future.

The Evolution of a Two Megawatt Solar Project in Gilbert

There is a generation coming of age, which has grown up in this digital world, who intrinsically know how to use computers and are perfectly comfortable publishing every move they make on the internet. This is a precarious time for those who know how to make objects, tools, and machines from scratch. However, there are artists who are bridging that gap, who know materials and how to exploit these new digital technologies.
